I’m normally not a pink person… but these are quite lovely.
Sometimes, there are small perks for being a secretary, regardless of the PC title we’re given these days.
First, welcome to several new friends I’ve met through memes in WoW and Slash fic writing… hooray!
So far, it’s been a very successful weekend. I have tomorrow off (hooray, Patriots’ Day!), so I’ll be able to devote a good chunk of it to writing, exactly as I’d hoped would happen. I’m feeling VERY pleased.
Spring Cleaning success – hooray! And the weather has turned out surprisingly good… the original forecast was for scattered showers all weekend. We had just a bit last night, but otherwise it’s been partly sunny and mild. All of the tree leaves are exploding. The only downside is my allergies – but after this winter, I’ll deal with sniffles!
I swear, watching BU play hockey is always a bit of a heart attack waiting to happen.
It’s great to see a hard-played, fast-skated game… reminds me a LOT of the games in the 1990s… most games I’ve seen @ Agganis or on TV recently haven’t been anywhere near this level of play. Fantastic.
But ugh, don’t SCARE me like this, guys.
My thumbs can’t take the chewing anymore. ;P
EDIT: YAAAAAAAY! CONGRATS BOSTON UNIVERSITY – NCAA HOCKEY CHAMPIONS!
Cue “Hey Baby” now… will ESPN have it playing?
Want to see a smaller version of grassroots fundraising at its best? Come on over to the fanfic auction. More than double the authors of the December round, and almost 3 times the offered auctions, all for the great cause of helping a fan just like ourselves.
It runs through Monday – and you might just find a new favorite writer or discover that an old favorite is still around!
Unanimous decision to uphold the ruling that the state ban on gay marriage was unconstitutional.
And better yet, the ruling is written brilliantly, negating the argument that is a religious (only) intitution:
“Civil marriage in Iowa is the only gateway to an extensive legal structure that protects a married couple’s relationship and family in and outside the state,” Hanson ruled in Des Moines. “Iowa reserves an unparalleled array of rights, obligations and benefits to married couples and their families, privileging married couples as a financial and legal unit and stigmatizing same-sex couples.”
Complete ruling is here:
