How the heck is it mid-November?  This month has been insanely crazy so far at work, and I’ve kind of just been coasting with everything other than the massive pile of work I have to do at the office every day.  I can’t believe it’s half-over.   I can’t believe it’s one week until Thanksgiving.  GAH!

Work has been futzing with my stitching mojo and preventing me from getting much done during the week.  Normally I do about 20 minutes (ish) of stitching during my lunch hour and then once we get home, I spend a good chunk of the evening with my needle.  The last three weeks have just not worked out that way – too busy during the day and too braindead at night.  All of my stitching has been on the weekends.

I’ve been plodding away, but my progress feels insanely slow.  I have a couple of ornaments in progress – one’s definitely a gift for an exchange with Rahenna, the other likely will be a gift, so I can’t post them yet.  If all goes well, I’ll get both of them stitched and finished by this weekend.   I’m also working on Rachel’s piece for the Mirabilia RR.  We’re on the last round, and I’ll have a very nice finish – both on my square AND on the piece as a whole – sometime late next week.  The different projects are probably what are making me feel so slow, come to think of it.  I’m sure I’m doing pretty well, considering the current life schedule!

I’m rethinking my gift plans a little bit, though.  I had these big, overblown plans to give stitched ornaments to my managers at work, plus ones as gifts to a few family and friends.  Great idea, but yeah… time to come down to Earth and be reasonable!  It’s not a matter of desire, but a matter of time.   I need to figure out what to get my managers, though.  That’s a tricky one.  I don’t really have much money to spend.  Maybe just a little chocolatey gifty thing, then.

With the holidays fast approaching, the SALs for 2012 are starting to kick up.  I want to plug the ones I’ve joined (and if you have others you’d like to plug, feel free to comment with a link):

International Hermit and Stitch Weekend (aka the IHSW) is this weekend!  It happens on 3rd weekend of every month.  Joyse posts a signup every month, usually on the Monday before.  Hop in, sign up, stitch this weekend, and share your progress!

Totally Useless Stitch-a-Long has been extended another year.  Daffycat is now taking signups for 2012!  Grab an empty jar, glass, whatever, and dump your orts in.  Every new moon, take a picture and post them.

Crazy January 2012 is a yahoogroup style SAL, now with added Facebook group.  Start 15 projects, one for each of the first 15 days of January.  Then try to finish them during 2012.  There are a few completely insane people – I am not one of them – who are starting a new project every day in January.

The Oldest UFO is being hosted by Evalina.  find your oldest project.  Post where you are, then start getting work done on it.  Every month, on the last day of the month, post your progress for a chance at a prize.

Wipocalypse… via moi.  Stitch all year and work on your WIPs.  You pick what you’re stitching.  Current WIPs, round robins, new starts – anything goes.  Celebrate your progress with a post on the full moon every month.  You’ll find the link on the left sidebar on my blog  🙂  Signups are over 160 now for next year so far.  It’s going to be INSANE.

I’m excited for 2012.  I really am.  Fresh starts, all of my own projects – it’s going to be a fun year of stitching!

As for your managers, you can NEVER go wrong with chocolate! 😉
