Wipocalypse Check-in Post #13 – We Survived!

To the people who teased me in email about planning to post this thing on the 24th? Yeah… I was crazy. *blush* Sorry.

I apologize for being late. I could give you some fanciful excuse about how I almost didn’t survive the wipocalypse, but no… it’s just been the typical holiday season insanity, and this week completely got away from me. Sorry about that! I know a couple people put their December posts on the November one… don’t worry about it. I’ll figure it out in the tally. Since I was late in posting, however, it’s only fair to extend the entry deadline a few days… so please note that I’ve changed the final posting date down in the announcements and pushed it back a week.

It’s hard to believe that this is the last post for 2012. I hope that those of you who stuck around for the entire year had a good time, made some good progress on your WIPs. I hope you’ll join us again for 2013 – for WIPocalypse, the Revenge! (isn’t that what sequels are supposed to be titled?)

Anyway, I want to thank all of you who participated in this wacky little SAL with me this year. I’ve heard from quite a few of you that it made a difference in your progress this year, and I’m thrilled to hear it! For those of you who will not be joining us for the return next year, I wish you happy stitching and hopefully we’ll meet along the digital stitching trail again someday. For those of you continuing this crazy little journey with me… oh, you strange, crazy people you (grin!)

Wishing you all the best in 2013,
Measi

Important SAL announcements

WIPocalypse 2013 info – Read a bit further down… info is there!

FINAL WIPocalypse Post Info – IMPORTANT – The final date to post for the 2012 drawing is Friday, January 18, 2013, 11:59 pm U.S. Eastern Time) to get that final post for 2012 in for the drawing, so please mark your calendars. (this date is firm – no late entries will be accepted. I’m doing the drawing on the evening of the 19th and announcing the winner on the 20th so I can get things mailed off!). Please note that I did change this, per the first couple paragraphs above, due to being late in posting the check-in. (If I’m late, it’s only fair you get a bit more time, after all!)

2013 WIPocalypse Signups – Signups are now open! CLICK HERE! Unlike last year, there will be no closing of signups, but hey, since you’re on the site anyway… join now!

Auto-Linky Help – Internet Explorer is definitely causing problems with the auto-link, and unfortunately it’s something I cannot control. Please use the comment form or email me if you cannot get your check-in to show up after a screen refresh..

*******************

Please remember that this stitch-a-long is intended to be fun – so if you’re too busy to post, too busy/ill/etc. to stitch – no worries. Post when you can and share what you have going, even if you’ve only been able to toss a single stitch into it. It’s not a race or a competition – we’re all just here to cheer each other on with our progress. :)

I know some stitchers were having some difficulty with my blog commenting system when signing up, so I want to try to make this a bit easier/more accessible for everyone. You can check in in one of three ways:

  • Via Auto-link
  • Via comments (make sure you include your blog address!)
  • Via email – to measiwitch(at)gmail.com, only if the comments are not working. Again- make sure you include your blog address!
Happy stitching everyone!

I have had a ball: this little SAL got me through chemotherapy, radiotherapy and two surgeries.  It helped re-ignite my love of all things stitchy.  I have posted every month which has given me something to look forwards to other than appointments.  I wish you all the best for 2013.   Happy New Year xxxxxxxx

I can’t believe I’ve managed to post every time. This has been the best impetus to blog regularly, and even though I think I have started more things than finished them, I have had a great time. Love seeing what everyone has accomplished

Hoping this will encourage me to continue posting beyond February  :>)  I finished my 3 designated UFOs for 2012 and hope I do as well with the 4 I have selected for 2013.  Always good intentions in January…
