Happy October everyone!
I’m expecting to have a pretty hectic end of the week at work, so I wanted to make sure the check-in post is up and running for everyone. (Hey Kiwis and Aussies… I’ll actually have it up in time for you to check in ON THE ACTUAL DAY this month! Shocking, isn’t it? *grin*)
I’m participating in a month-long blog challenge, so there will be some visitors to this post who have no idea what the WIPocalypse is. Basically… it’s a communal show-and-tell gathering post for everyone to show off what craftiness they’ve accomplished over the past month. We check in every full moon and show the progress on our Works In Progress (or WIPs). The project started in 2012 as a pun off of the apocalypse that was supposed to happen at the end of the year. It didn’t. We’re still here, and happily still crafting away!
I hope everyone’s been making great progress. We’re in the final stretch of 2013 – how are you making out? I seem to have hit a groove with my stitching again, which is wonderful. Sometimes a little time away really is all that’s needed to get refocused and re-energized!
I’ve had a couple people email me and ask about 2014. I do intend on continuing the WIPocalypse stitch-a-long for as long as there are people interested. 🙂 Now that I’ve gotten over the chaos of having my little kiddo, I think I’ll introduce a giveaway drawing back in as a little incentive. I would like to hear YOUR opinions, however, on how they should happen. Options I’m currently considering are:
- A year-long check-in for one massive giveaway, like we did in 2012
- Quarterly giveaways (maybe seasonally themed?)
- Monthly giveaways (smaller, but more frequent)
If you have any other suggestions, I’d definitely love to hear them! Drop them in the comments or send me an email at measiwitch(at)gmail.com.
Signups and the 2014 plan will be announced during next month’s check-in!
Important SAL Announcements…
Next month’s posting date: November 17th
Themes for the upcoming month: If you’re looking for a way to decide what to work on, and want to play along with a theme idea, maybe try one (or more!) of the following:
Designer – Allessandra Adelaide
Project Theme/Style – Ornaments
Focus Colors – White and Purple
Please remember that this stitch-a-long is intended to be fun – so if you’re too busy to post, too busy/ill/etc. to stitch – no worries. Post when you can and share what you have going, even if you’ve only been able to toss a single stitch into it. If you miss a few months, not a problem – just jump back in when you’re back with us! It’s not a race or a competition – we’re all just here to cheer each other on with our progress.
Due to different browsing software, some bloggers have found it difficult to check-in with their posts. There are three different ways to check in:
•Via comments (make sure you include your blog address!)
•Via email – to measiwitch(at)gmail.com, only if the other two options are not working. Again- make sure you include your blog address! I’ll add it to the auto-link myself when I have a free moment.
