Another year, another (or if you’re like me… the same) group of WIPs begging to get some love and attention in your stitching stash. I hope all of you have a great, productive year – both in stitching and in your other adventures.
As we’re starting a new year, I’d like to welcome anyone who’s new to our little stitch-a-long, and if you’re returning… welcome back! Please do not feel any pressure about your stitching or do any comparison to other stitchers and yourself. Remember that we all stitch at different paces, and we all have different amounts of time we’re able to devote to this hobby. It doesn’t matter how many projects you actually finish, or how fast you stitch. The whole point of the WIPocalypse is to make progress – ANY progress – and share it so the rest of us can swing by and cheer you on. If you drop out for a while because life is getting in the way, no big deal. Just join us again when you’re able to get back to your crafty side. You’re always welcome!
If you’re just stopping by this page for the first time and have no idea what I’m talking about, swing by the basic info and signup page to learn more.
A new thing that the WIPocalypse is doing this year is a discussion topic. This is optional, but I do hope you’ll participate in it each month. This month’s topic is a proper one for the beginning of any adventure: Introduce yourself, your projects, and any goals you have for the year.
I’m looking forward to seeing what all of you create this year – and I’m going to make a point of commenting more on your entries and not lurking.
Have a wonderful year!
Important SAL Announcements…
Next month’s posting date: February 14th.
Topic for next month: How many projects do you generally feel comfortable having in progress at a time? Tell us about your one-at-a-time or rotation habits.
Please remember that this stitch-a-long is intended to be fun – so if you’re too busy to post, too busy/ill/etc. to stitch – no worries. Post when you can and share what you have going, even if you’ve only been able to toss a single stitch into it. If you miss a few months, not a problem – just jump back in when you’re back with us! It’s not a race or a competition – we’re all just here to cheer each other on with our progress.
Due to different browsing software, some bloggers have found it difficult to check-in with their posts. There are three different ways to check in:
- Via Auto-link
- Via comments (make sure you include your blog address!)
- Via email – to measiwitch(at)gmail.com, only if the other two options are not working. Again- make sure you include your blog address! I’ll add it to the auto-link myself when I have a free moment.
