1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..
OK, are you ready? Please give us your best five minutes on:::
I think many of us in life need an extra dose of encouragement. With all of the craziness around us, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and feel like we’re never doing anything right. Especially in today’s world, where everyone is self-absorbed in their own little world of cell phones and computers.
I think the self-absorbed attitudes are what have sparked all of those “random acts of kindness” projects. Because we all need encouragement, we need feedback. We need to feel wanted and appreciated.
Even when someone hasn’t done the greatest job in the world, encouraging them is a good thing. If taken the right way, it’s simply a way to push them to do even better. You appreciate them – you appreciate their efforts.
The world simply needs more of this. Otherwise we get into the “no one cares about what I do, so why bother?” mind set, and things start to slide. The lack fo encouragement leads to burnout and apathy.
There’s enough of that in the world.
Have you encouraged someone today?
(and I need more coffee…) That’s my encouragement for the day. Caffeine.
It calls me.
