May WIPocalypse Check-in Post!

wipocalypse2014Hello everyone!

I hope everyone’s had a lovely month. After a couple of crazy ones here, I feel like I’m getting my own life back on track and starting to catch up a bit. My stitching time has taken a bit of a hit due to a change in my commuting schedule, but I’m still finding some time to get a little bit in a few times per week. I do miss my evenings of being able to stitch with no other responsibilities, though! Ah, motherhood.

As you might recall, we had a giveaway offer last month.  I’ve just done the drawing, and the winner is…

Carol Harper!

(who has an epic storage photo on her April entry, I might add… if only I could be that organized!)

Congrats, Carol! I’ve sent you an email to get your contact info. In full disclosure of a last minute giveaway change… I was unable to get up to Celebration in Nashua as planned at the beginning of the month, so instead of a “surprise” chart from Rosewood Manor or Ink Circles, I have asked Carol via email to pick a chart from either designer and I will order it for her. Minor change, but hey… it was a change and changes require a heads up to everyone!

Thank you to everyone who participated!  We’ll have another one a bit later in the year (August-ish).

This month’s discussion topic is:  What designs or themes do you really wish you could find?  What do you think is missing among stitching designs?

Also… as I was prepping this month’s check-in, I realize I have two months with TBDs for topics (whoops!).  So please give me ideas!  Toss a comment below or email me at measiwitch(at)  All ideas will be used… either for September or November this year, or as the WIPocalypse continues in 2015.  🙂

Until next month…

Happy stitching,
Melissa (Measi)

Important SAL Announcements…

Next month’s posting date: June 13th

Topic for next month: Have you ever been to a stitch gathering such as a retreat or a festival? If so, tell us about it!

Please remember that this stitch-a-long is intended to be fun – so if you’re too busy to post, too busy/ill/etc. to stitch – no worries. Post when you can and share what you have going, even if you’ve only been able to toss a single stitch into it. If you miss a few months, not a problem – just jump back in when you’re back with us! It’s not a race or a competition – we’re all just here to cheer each other on with our progress.

Due to different browsing software, some bloggers have found it difficult to check-in with their posts. There are three different ways to check in:

  • Via Auto-link
  • Via comments (make sure you include your blog address!)
  • Via email – to measiwitch(at), only if the other two options are not working. Again- make sure you include your blog address! I’ll add it to the auto-link myself when I have a free moment.

    Yay, I’m first this month!

September is my birth month so I think the question should be “who is your favourite person to stitch for, or do you prefer to keep your stitching yourself?”

  2. Carol says:

I would just like to say that I am thrilled to pieces at winning teh drawing! I NEVER win anything so this is a real surprise and I’m on pins and needles awaiting my chart! Thanks tons, Melissa!
