June WIPocalypse Check-in

wipocalypse2014Hi everyone!

I know it’s been quiet on my blog for a few months now, aside from the WIPocalypse check-ins.  I’m still here, although life’s been throwing several curve balls my way since February, and I’m just kind of hanging on for the ride at this point.  It’s affected my blogging mojo (and to a lesser extent, my stitching mojo as well).  Hopefully I’ll be back to my normal self one of these days.  I feel a bit weird only posting for the check-ins, but if that’s what’s keeping my blog going these days, so be it!

The Simply Linked site that I normally use to create the check-in widget is not logging in correctly for me, so we’re going to the old standby, Mr. Linky.  Hopefully it’s working.  If not, drop a comment with your checkin or email me at measiwitch(at)gmail.com, and I’ll see if the Simply Linked site is working correctly next week.

I’ve been busy on my end with band sampler round robin stitching.  This year hasn’t seen a lot of work on my own projects, much to my frustration.  As much as I enjoy the round robins, I think I’ll have to pull back from them entirely once this current commitment is done so I can focus on my own stuff.  Max is just a bit too much of a handful to balance my own plus robins.  🙂

This month’s discussion topic is:  Have you ever been to a stitch gathering such as a retreat or a festival? If so, tell us about it!

Until next month…

Happy stitching,
Melissa (Measi)

Important SAL Announcements…

Next month’s posting date: July 12th

Topic for next month: It’s halfway to Christmas.  Do you start your holiday stitching this early?  If so, what do you hope to accomplish this year?

Please remember that this stitch-a-long is intended to be fun – so if you’re too busy to post, too busy/ill/etc. to stitch – no worries. Post when you can and share what you have going, even if you’ve only been able to toss a single stitch into it. If you miss a few months, not a problem – just jump back in when you’re back with us! It’s not a race or a competition – we’re all just here to cheer each other on with our progress.

Due to different browsing software, some bloggers have found it difficult to check-in with their posts. There are three different ways to check in:

  • Via Auto-link
  • Via comments (make sure you include your blog address!)
  • Via email – to measiwitch(at)gmail.com, only if the other two options are not working. Again- make sure you include your blog address! I’ll add it to the auto-link myself when I have a free moment.

I just joined this SAL (and started blogging) a couple weeks ago…it is such a neat idea!
Thanks so much for hosting and keeping it open to new members year-round. : )

Oh no, that meant ‘your blog name’ and not really ‘your name’…well, now that’s looking arkward xD

Thanks for hosting this SAL Melissa. I understand pulling back from the round robins. Sometimes you just have to think about yourself and what you want to do for you and your family. I avoid structured “a-longs” in every medium for just that reason because I can’t then work on what I really want to finish. I hope you get back to feeling like yourself soon. Hugs, Cathie

Once a month is better than nothing! I think everyone is so pleased that you organised the WIPocalypse again this year and the themes have been so popular. I really like thinking of what to put each month.

I know what you mean about RRs too, that’s why I only do the band samplers now because I know I can complete them in a couple of evenings, unlike the Mirabilia ones!
I certainly didn’t get much stitching done when my boys were babies, and I didn’t work either! I focused on each one for the first three years then found time for me once they started preschool. Now they are older they amuse themselves so I can stitch while they play or even grab some time while they are at school.
