March 2015 WIPocalypse Check-in!

WIPocalypse ButtonHello again everyone!

I apologize for being a bit late putting this month’s check-in up. Life’s been a little hectic the past several weeks due to all of the snow – which is still here since the last check-in (thigh deep in most places). The commuter train system around Boston completely imploded, and despite it being several weeks after the last big storm, things still aren’t back up and running correctly, so I’ve been driving most of the way to and from work, resulting in nearly a 5 hour round trip commute each way. It’s definitely been a case of “just try to get through it… it’ll be spring soon.”

Because of this, blogging just hasn’t quite been on the high list of my radar, and the things that go with it have fallen off a bit, too.

I have a few administrative things to address that have come up… 🙂

Participant Questions

I’ve received a couple of questions recently via email and comments, and wanted to address them in public in case others are wondering:

1) I haven’t received the newsletter since January.
You haven’t missed anything – the issue is completely on my end, due to the snow situation here. With the commute insanity, and balancing life with a toddler… I blanked on sending one in February. There will be one going out today within about 20 minutes after this entry gets posted. If you do not receive that one, please drop me another line.

2) How do I get the button for the link back?
To do so, right click the image at the top of this entry and save it to your desktop. You’ll need to upload it to wherever you store your photos… and then link it back to

3) When I post a comment to your blog, it’s not showing up. What’s going on?
I have a spam filter for comments installed, and sometimes it grabs legitimate comments and throws them into the spam queue. I check and clean that out every time I post a new entry… and will approve it when I see it.

Hopefully that helps with the questions. If not, please drop me an email!

Blogging Questions Needed!

May, July, and November don’t have blogger questions at the moment for this year’s check-ins.  Do you have questions that you’d be curious to see how other stitchers answer?  Drop me a line and provide a question!  You’ll get credit (and a link) during that month.  And if I get more than three, I may switch out some of our other questions that were on deck for later in the year, keep them as reserves, and add yours instead!

Question of the Month

If money – and time – were not limiters, what projects would be on your stitching bucket list?

That should tidy up my to-do list a little bit with the SAL!  🙂

I hope you’re all doing well and still making great progress on your stitching.  Looking forward to seeing everything you’re working on!

Until next month,

– Mel.

Important SAL Announcements…

Next month’s posting date: April 4

Topic for next month:  Which specialty stitches do you love doing on projects? Which do you dread?

Please remember that this stitch-a-long is intended to be fun – so if you’re too busy to post, too busy/ill/etc. to stitch – no worries. Post when you can and share what you have going, even if you’ve only been able to toss a single stitch into it. If you miss a few months, not a problem – just jump back in when you’re back with us! It’s not a race or a competition – we’re all just here to cheer each other on with our progress.

Due to different browsing software, some bloggers have found it difficult to check-in with their posts. There are three different ways to check in:

  • Via Auto-link
  • Via comments (make sure you include your blog address!)
  • Via email – to measiwitch(at), only if the other two options are not working. Again- make sure you include your blog address! I’ll add it to the auto-link myself when I have a free moment.

That sounds like a nightmare commute! Driving means you can’t even stitch or read either. Hope you have a good radio station to pass the time.
ps did you know there is a Viagra advert at the top of your blog, under your header? Random!

    • Measi says:

Jo… it sounds like you might have had an ad spammer infect whatever you’re using to read my site… there’s definitely not an advert there. 🙁 (I’ve had that happen before, too… it’ll take random words and highlight them, then create weird pop-ups).

  2. Hazel says:

So pleased that it’s nothing more serious than the weather that caused the delay. A 5 hour commute must be horrendous

  3. Sylvia Perez-Hardy says:

Thanks a Lot for hosting WIPocalypse and for putting up the March post. I love looking at everyone’s work. I have some people on a list on my blog but for other I rely on coming to the monthly post. Thanks again and I hope the weather improves for all of us. February was brutal and the commute you had to make made it even worse.
