Late July WIPocalypse Check-In!

WIPocalypse Button Hello, hello all!

July is about to end, and that means it’s our Blue Moon check-in for the WIPocalypse. I’m enjoying something that I truthfully can’t quite wrap my head around – a four week vacation, in which I can stitch essentially whenever I want during the day. It’s so overwhelming that I confess I’ve only put in about two hours of stitching this week. Instead, I’ve been attempting to be all practical and stuff… getting CHORES done. What’s WRONG with me? (I mean, really… this is so inherently wrong!)

Hopefully this week will get it out of my system and I can settle down into some good hours on the couch next week with a needle! I have a couple of pieces that I’d really like to get completed, and I honestly think I can do it if I just sit down and focus on them for a while… one is just needing backstitching. The other needs a bit more work, but I still think it’s possible. We shall see…

Question of the Month

What makes you pick up a long-abandoned UFO rather than beginning a new piece? (this question comes to us via Paula)

I hope that you continue to make great progress on your stitching this month! Until next time,

Important SAL Announcements…

Next posting date: August 29

Topic for next time: Pick one of the WIP pieces you’ve stitched on this month, and tell us about your stitching journey with the piece.

Please remember that this stitch-a-long is intended to be fun – so if you’re too busy to post, too busy/ill/etc. to stitch – no worries. Post when you can and share what you have going, even if you’ve only been able to toss a single stitch into it. If you miss a few months, not a problem – just jump back in when you’re back with us! It’s not a race or a competition – we’re all just here to cheer each other on with our progress.

Due to different browsing software, some bloggers have found it difficult to check-in with their posts. There are three different ways to check in:

  • Via Auto-link
  • Via comments (make sure you include your blog address!)
  • Via email – to measiwitch(at), only if the other two options are not working. Again- make sure you include your blog address! I’ll add it to the auto-link myself when I have a free moment.

Not sure what I did wrong I added a picture but it does not seem to have loaded. Sorry I am so very new to blogging and I am just learning how to do things. The links seems to have worked to my post just not the picture.

Rose, I’ll take a look and see why the image didn’t connect properly. Sometimes it’s something as simple as an apostrophe that’s formatted differently (curved instead of straight). It happens… not a problem.

I too have been looking forward to my 2 month vacation to get a whole lot of stitching done and it is just not happening. Chores and commitments to elderly parents are preventing me from doing as much as I would like. Sigh. I hope you have more time to stitch this week.
