September 2015 WIPocalypse Check-In!

WIPocalypse Button Hello everyone…

I apologize for the lack of a check-in last month.  My brain has been elsewhere, and once I get this post completed I’ll be posting the explanation of what’s going on around here.

Mostly, it’s coming down to I’m just really, really tired and feeling like I’m a bit too overstretched without honestly being so.  I just am kind of flying without a plan these days, and it’s wearing me down.  Add to that my dad’s situation, and my brain is just wanting to shut down.  So… yeah.  It’s a rough patch – one of those “welcome to life, it happens” periods.  The best thing to do is just ride it out, try to keep one’s head above water, and then make the patches once the bumps and bruises stop.

It’s too soon to really say “everything will be okay,” since I don’t know how my dad’s situation will end up.  I’m hoping it will be okay.    But it’s truthfully still too soon.  On the immediate family front, things are fine.  Stressful with jobs, but nothing that out of the ordinary.  Max is fine. We’re both okay health-wise.  So hey, that’s something, right?  One way or the other, we’ll make it.  I’m just not entirely sure how things are going to look at the other side.

I am thinking of putting the WIPocalypse on a more monthly schedule next year, either posting on the first or last day of every month (and keeping the link-up open until the day before the next month’s posting).  I’d love to hear people’s opinions – would you prefer that or the full moon schedule we have now?

Question of the Month

Since I didn’t post last month, I’m including both August and September’s questions here.  🙂

August:  Pick one of the WIP pieces you’ve stitched on this month, and tell us about your stitching journey with the piece.

September: Where do you buy most of your stitching supplies?

In any case, I do hope you’ve been getting a lot of stitching done… and that my mind lapse for personal issues wasn’t too much of an annoyance last month.  Hopefully it’ll be the only hiccup in the foreseeable future!

Happy stitching,

Important SAL Announcements…

Next posting date: October 27

Topic for next time: Are there any fibers or materials used in stitching that you’re nervous to try?

Please remember that this stitch-a-long is intended to be fun – so if you’re too busy to post, too busy/ill/etc. to stitch – no worries. Post when you can and share what you have going, even if you’ve only been able to toss a single stitch into it. If you miss a few months, not a problem – just jump back in when you’re back with us! It’s not a race or a competition – we’re all just here to cheer each other on with our progress.

Due to different browsing software, some bloggers have found it difficult to check-in with their posts. There are three different ways to check in:

  • Via Auto-link
  • Via comments (make sure you include your blog address!)
  • Via email – to measiwitch(at), only if the other two options are not working. Again- make sure you include your blog address! I’ll add it to the auto-link myself when I have a free moment.

We all have real lives and sometimes it tends to get in the way of our blogging. Great thing is we will be here when you get back. I love doing the WIPocalypse but even I have missed several months since I’ve been so busy with life. I really enjoy doing the checks in on the full moon. Just my 2 cents though. There are so many other SALs that post beginning or end of the month. But I’ll participate whenever the check ins are.

Sorry you’ve been having a hard time lately. I like the WIPocalypse posts being on the Full Moon because the TUSAL is on the New Moon so it spreads things out across the month!
You could schedule the 12/13 posts in advance so there’s something to link up and then add your own photos when you get a chance?

I like the full moon checkins, it’s very special in a food way, but I wouldn’t mind a more regular schedule either. I’m fine with borh ways.
As for your situation, I sure hope it’s going to be alright – crossing my fingwrs for you!
