November WIPocalypse check-in!

WIPocalypse ButtonHello again everyone!

And here it is, the end of November.  For those of us in the United States, it’s Thanksgiving weekend.  It’s a rather reflective, subdued holiday for me this year – thinking about both my dad’s health and the recent events in the world.  I have a lot to be thankful for, yet I don’t quite have the words or emotions that I feel express them appropriately.

I will be hosting Thanksgiving for the first time in several years.  Erich’s father and his wife, Linda, will be joining us.  Our friend Matt will be here, too.  And this will be Max’s first Thanksgiving at home.  I’m looking forward to it – I love big holiday cooking.  I’m not exactly sure why, either – I don’t enjoy day to day cooking at all.  But there’s something comforting to me about the big holidays – making all of the “fancy” dishes, the coziness of the kitchen.  I think it comes from watching my mom do her magic all of those years.  My mom loves to entertain.  I struggle a bit with it due to my severe introvert tendencies… it can take a lot out of me, but I do enjoy it.  I will definitely need some quiet stitching time on Friday to recoup, though!

Over this long weekend I’ll be updating the WIPocalypse pages for next year, including the posting dates, any questions I have, etc.  If you have any questions you’d like added for the monthly topics, please let me know via comments below or send me an email to measiwitch(at)  Full credit will be given to anyone who poses them!

Question of the Month

Topic for next time: Which designer has inspired you to stitch the greatest number of designs and why do you think that is? (via Hazel)

I hope that those of you celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend have a lovely holiday – and for everyone else, a happy weekend of stitching as the crazy holiday season commences.  🙂

Until next month,

Important SAL Announcements…

Next posting date: December 25th (Note:  This post will likely go live on the 26th or 27th, depending on what happens with my holiday plans)

Topic for next time: Recap your accomplishments for the year! (Your finishes, your final before/after photos, etc).

Please remember that this stitch-a-long is intended to be fun – so if you’re too busy to post, too busy/ill/etc. to stitch – no worries. Post when you can and share what you have going, even if you’ve only been able to toss a single stitch into it. If you miss a few months, not a problem – just jump back in when you’re back with us! It’s not a race or a competition – we’re all just here to cheer each other on with our progress.

Due to different browsing software, some bloggers have found it difficult to check-in with their posts. There are three different ways to check in:

  • Via Auto-link
  • Via comments (make sure you include your blog address!)
  • Via email – to measiwitch(at), only if the other two options are not working. Again- make sure you include your blog address! I’ll add it to the auto-link myself when I have a free moment.
