Ornament Exchange!

The Rhode Island Stitchers hosted their first Christmas Ornament Exchange this past Saturday during a holiday style Stitch-In.

One ornament was not completed in time for the exchange due to some random blood shed. After a quick wash I am happy to report the ornie is again blood free! Once beading is completed it will find its way into the happy hands of its new owner.

Since attending The Stitcher’s Hideaway Mystic II retreat in October our members’ finishing skills have blossomed. Special thanks to the fantastic instruction provided by designer Belinda Karls-Nace of Blue Ribbon Designs.

If you ever have the chance to attend an event taught by her you must GO! Her conversational teaching style made ornament assembly easy! How I wish I had her to teach me instead of the poorly written instructions I taught myself with years ago!!

Without further delay here are our goodies!

Santa – from a Janlynn mini kit Stitched by Yvonne

A small from Pocketful of Peppermint – Blue Ribbon Designs Stitched by Melissa

Santa’s Buddies – The Gentle Arts Threads Stitched by Kathy

Peace – Sue Hillis Designs Stitched by Lisa Anne

and the custom logo designed by Lisa Anne which makes more sense if you know RI is nicknamed The Ocean State, hence, the anchor.

The last design – Winter Blues by Stitchy Kitty will be posted as soon as it is completed!

What ornaments have you been working on this season? We’d love to hear all about them!!
