Stitching Works in Progress

Monthly Goals

For October, I wanted to:

1) Stitch two more ornaments, and finish them and the two stitched pieces I already have. I did not stitch the two pieces I already have. I did complete two new ornaments, though!
2) Enjoy the Stitcher’s Hideaway retreat. ABSOLUTELY DID!
3) Finish pds’ piece for the UFO RR Done!
4) Update my supply spreadsheet with all patterns & fabric stash Nope.
5) Stitch 15 hours during my vacation week. DONE!

For November, I want to:

1) Finish Rachel’s UFO RR piece – I may be able to make this a robin HD!
2) Finish my hours for Rahenna’s UFO RR piece
3) Stitch an ornament for my mom, my dad, and Erich’s dad (finishing in Dec)
4) Update my pattern list on my supply spreadsheet
5) Clean up my craft room

I was thrilled to see comments from my last entry – thank you guys!  So many times I feel like I’m just shouting into the wind in this blog.

Kris – I’m using a whipstitch method to complete my ornament, much like you do for biscornu.  There’s a good set of instructions here: http://www.violarium.com/index.php?main_page=extras&sivu=47&language=en Where the instructions in biscornu vs. ornaments differ is starting at #5.  Skip the pinning, and just match the top corner of each piece (front and back) together, and then start whip stitching.  To add the bead, slide a bead on before doing the whip stitch, and it will slide perfectly into place as you tighten the stitch.

My Halloween ornament follows a bead+ whip, whip only, bead+whip, whip only pattern.

Does that make sense?

:)
