Stitching WIPocalypse

February 2025 WIPocalypse Check-In

Hi everyone!

I’m officially ready for spring – the cold weather has just been constant, and while we haven’t had as much snow as other areas have recently, we got that oh-so-wonderful (not) combo of several inches of snow followed by several inches of rain, turning everything into slush that then froze into an ice sheet. It’s officially the “winter sucks” part of winter now. Bring on springtime warmth! I want to be able to go outside with bare feet!!

We’re only a couple weeks away from Nashville 2025, and I’m enjoying the wide variety of stitching projects that are going to be released at Market this year. It always interests me to see what the trends are in any year. We had a LOT of Quakers for years. This year, bird motifs are catching my eye. Whether there is an increase – who knows? But I found it interesting. There’s definitely a nice variety of styles and colors to choose from this year!

Random heads up for those who are looking for ways to gather with other stitchers – if you are buying things from Market this year, Lindy Stitches is hosting a virtual start-athon retreat for Nashville purchases on March 28-29th called Nash Stash Startathon. It’s organized similarly to the Jingle Ball, which is a fun, relaxing event. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make it since I have a retreat two weeks later, but if I can’t make it this year, I hope to join in next year’s fun. 🙂

Upcoming One Month Challenge

Our first one month focus begins on March 1st! As always, this is totally optional. Take one of your WIPs and set a goal to done a minimum of one stitch per day, every day, for the month. The idea is that you won’t be able to do just one stitch at a time (the eating potato chips theory), but if that’s all you have time for? No problem! Fall behind? Also no problem – the minimum stitches are easy to catch up. Regardless, every stitch counts – and it will get you at LEAST 31 stitches closer to your goal by participating in March. 🙂 If you can’t join us in March, not a problem – this challenge will run again in June, July, and October..

Happy stitching – I’ll see you back here in March!

Best,
Melissa

Please remember that this stitch-a-long is intended to be fun – so if you’re too busy to post, too busy/ill/etc. to stitch – no worries! Post when you can and share what you have going, even if you’ve only been able to toss a single stitch into it. If you miss a few months, not a problem – just jump back in when you’re back with us! It’s not a race or a competition – we’re all just here to cheer each other on with our progress.
